Macbooks are easy to upgrade HDD and Ram. No problem at all.

Thanks for all the info! I really do want her to be happy with her purchase.

The 13.3inch Macbook was very responsive and looked pretty with its 1200x800 screen. However there's much better things you could buy for 1k if you want to have Windows.

It comes with a 320gb 5400rpm hdd. and 4g of ram. The display looked great though..

Don't forget the Apple re-certified website. You cannot tell the systems were ever previously owned/used. You can probably find a 15" in the price range you are looking at. The $1000 15" systems come and go fairly quickly, so keep refreshing daily if you're interested. Here is the link to the page. I'm actually pretty happy that this thread has been clean.

Just don't discourage a Mac purchase if you can find one for the right price. I use Xcode constantly and CS4 seems more fluid than it does on my PC. I couldn't live without my MBP, and I've had it for years. Just for nerd points, I've posted mine below:

I have to say, those macbooks are outrageously price for the specs. No disrespect, but that is just borderline scam.

Though they are expensive, they do serve a purpose. Thanks for the pic skitzogreg. Looks pretty awesome. And it still works..

The whole thing with these Apple products is that they can last if you treat them well. They're easy to use, and they have a nice bright display. As such for my sister's taste. That's one of the things most important to her.

Also, GuilT1 I'm from Ohio as well. Cinci area! =D And yes, personally, me and you see these machines as overpriced. But you must understand it's for someone who's not as technology inclined as us. And their displays are pretty nice, right...

But yeah, she's all for a Mac because many of her friends that do Design work have them. So she says. "All" of them do!
