i7 970 + GTX 560Ti 3DMark Benchmarks

This post is mostly as an FYI for those searching for the 3DMark results of these two parts in tandem, but feel free to let me know what you think, offer any performance suggestions, etc. It's interesting to see a current GPU bottlenecking the CPU. It's usually the other way around.

The i7 970 is clocked at 4.03 with 1.29 vcore. The 560 Ti is clocked at 955mhz, but the fan is set on the lowest speed. This is for noise purposes; the 560 is a cool-running card that even during benching (with practically no fan on) does not hit above 77c. All results are with PhysX off.

I get only 4470 in 3dmark performance with my 560ti factory oced at 880mhz (cpu at 3.6ghz). Its impressive to see how much difference a good, no.... scratch that, great cpu makes. How much voltage are you using on your 560ti? I want to know because my 560ti is unstable in a few games at 950mhz on 1.0120v.

Are you using the latest 275.33 drivers? My single 560Ti was getting 4900 (at 980MHz core) in 3DMark 11 before getting the new drivers and now its over 5400.....

Wowser!!! I was using the 270.61 drivers during my last 3dmark11 run. After reading your post I ran 3dmark11 again (now I am using the latest 275.33 driver) and behold! the new score is 4530 in performance mode (with the 880mhz factory OC). Thanks man. Rep added.
After I figure out exactly how much voltage to pump through just to run my card at 950/1150MHz, I will run 3dmark again. What do you reckon would be the safest setting for my 560ti for 24/7 runs?

Your TwinFrozr should hit 1.0ghz. Try sliding the voltage to around 1100 to see if that increases stability. These cards run incredibly cool, so even at max voltage you should be able to run 24/7 with your OC. YMMV.

AB limits my voltage to 1.075v so that is what I am running. I have gotten as high as 980MHz core but that is only stable in 3DMark11. Vantage won't take anymore than 965MHz....
