How can I get my CPU to lower volts/freq at idle? (C1E/EIST won't work)

Thread Starter
I'm new to Intel overclocking and just finished a 24hr Prime95 run and 50 Linx runs on my 2500k. It's at 4.5Ghz at 1.32v. I have to set the vcore manually otherwise my vcore drops to 1.28v and LLC doesn't appear to be of much help. Anyhow, since I've got the vcore manually set C1E/EIST won't lower the vcore at idle. Is there anyway to get my vcore to drop at idle now?

I keep hearing about offsets but I don't see any option for it in my Z68X-UD4's BIOS. There's something called Dynamic Vcore but after a ton of Googling that doesn't appear to be related to it. Is it called something else on Gigabyte boards?

I encountered a similar scenario. You need to set CPU Vcore to normal, then it will allow you to use offset voltage(gigabyte calls it Dynamic Vcore in the BIOS).

Ahh... so dynamic vcore is the same as offset.

Anyhow, it's working as it should now. Thanks Mandroid!
