Windows 7 Ultimate for FREE or for $65 through my college...?

Thread Starter
My college's software site for students has three options for Windows 7:
  1. Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Upgrade 32/64-bit (Student Select) $65.67
  2. Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade 32/64-bit (Student Select) $65.67
  3. Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade 32/64-bit (Student Option) FREE

I can't find anything on this "Student Select" vs. "Student Option." It has something to do with academic licensing according to a few unhelpful sites.
Is anyone familiar with these select/option terms?

you are probably limited to one of the free ones

I think Select is licences your school bought in bulk. Option is a free plan that they have access to. Select you keep after you leave school, option you do not.

This is all speculation of course.

Just to muddle up the waters a bit, do you have an *.edu e-mail address?
