[ATD] The Nvidia-Microsoft Pact Is Actually 11 Years Old - Page 4

So true...

Microsoft only did this b/c at the time, NVIDIA was barely afloat. 2000 still saw 3DFX and S3 and a host of other companies, NVIDIA was barely on the radar for graphics.

This pact was meant to protect Microsoft in case of a takeover attempt or (worse) NVIDIA went under in 2000, but (as the author noted) it's been in force ever since (and has been in every SEC filing since April 2000).

First off, talk about a revival from the dead, must only happen when I (Or people get drunk and decide to look into their REP)

Funny you mention Ferrari because, I was a big fan of theirs until they started marginalizing their products. Yes you should start despising Ferrari's products because they are no longer unique. They no longer provide the value to the customer they once did. For reference I no longer have my Ferrari flag hung up, largely due to this.

Apple has a dominant market share/impact on the market now whether you recognize it or not. However MS has managed to turn Apple's "Vespa" of an OS into a "GSXR" of an OS. You can get from point A to B in a Vespa, but you can go 200+ mph from point A to B in a GSXR. Just sayin'

Granted I probably shouldn't post while in the state I am in but, my opinion is no less valid as a result. BOOM!

Why does it sounds similar to the Netflix vs. M$ .... ?

I wonder what would happen if two companies had a merger that took them over 30% ownership of Nvidia, as that stock would be out of Nvidia's hands.

Uh none of the 3 things you listed are nightmares. All major OS's have configuration files (Registry) and dynamic libraries (DLL, OCX).
