friend of mine said his new pc did it.

he uses asus p8z69-v deluxe.

a bios update fixed it for him

It made it just till the point "before" it would normally boot windows, then it reset, and booted up "normally" (and eventually got into windows)

Do you guys think that this problem persists in ALL gigabyte z68 motherboards? I'm considering purchasing the GA-Z68XP-UD4 (not the Z68X-UD4) -- would it be almost a 100% possibility that I will encounter this issue if I use the UD4 for my build?

Just wondering if this issue only affects a few bad apples or is consistent across the board.

So far I haven't gotten any boot loops with my GA-Z68XP-UD4 (I've only had the board running a couple of hours) so no, I don't think the problem is with all Gigabyte boards. I think there is only one other person in this thread with the Z68XP-UD4, who also had minimal problems if you look back a couple of pages.

Overall, I think it's a great board. Don't let the asus fanboy's steer you away.

If you answered yes to the second question, did you try what I suggested here?
I'm using the latest bios for my board, F4. I don't want to resort to flashing both bios to my overclock just quite yet. I'm really hoping something is fixed soon. I'm probably going to ask for an RMA it it doesn't get fixed very shorty.

Some people in this thread don't know what boot loop is. If you are oc and it loops couple times then boot back up in to stock settings that is normal. Just mean it was a bad oc.

The people that have a problem are the ones that get stable oc and then get a boot loop that don't end untill they clear cmos or are not even oc at all.

My D3H-B3 does not have this problem thankfully. It would show up without overclocking, right? I have yet to overclock my 2600K but I have done many cold boots, restarts, and a few resets via the front button and it has gone through POST and booted every time.

I've heard it does not happen unless you change bios settings..such as overclocking.

Have you read the thread? No, a boot loop doesn't require a OC to happen.
