Gigabyte P67/Z68 boot cycling problem - Page 63

Just got my board back from RMA. And you know what, I'm sick of this ****. They kept the board for a month, updated the BIOS, and sent it back to me. SAME ******* BOARD! All the problems that it had before (a laundry list) it still has. The didn't do a ******* thing with it during the time they had it. Waiting for me ready, no shutdown, reset bios settings, continuos tone when it starts up sometimes, etc. Nope, all good, as designed! I build a lot of these things, last ******* Gigabyte anything for me thank you. I'm done here.

you guys need to post up what memory you are using, i heard a lot of this accounted to memory as well. They need to know or else they wont fix the issue, because the BIOS engineers have said that it has been fixed across the line.. They do know what the issue is, but give me your:
1. Board make, exactly if you have a UD3H i need to know if its P67A B2 or B3 or Z68 Rev 1.0 or rev 1.3
2. BIOS model in use now
3. A brief description of when and how the issue occurs, just make sure the board goes into a never ending cycle and cant come out of it then you can PM me.
4. The memory make and model you are using, and whether or not it is on the QVL.

Make sure you update to the latest BIOS before you PM me.

Title your PM as "B "Model of the board used" BOOT LOOP"

So some guy might PM me GB P67A-UD7 BOOT LOOP

I have very direct contact to one of their top BIOS engineers, so I will pass the info along, because they don't want to lose customers. They just have trouble getting word out there as I was told.

They can get all the information they need by reading this thread and by looking at their support and RMA requests. I and others have already posted what you are asking for and have already contacted Gigabyte support with this information. I originally bought "approved" Kingston ram and have then swapped it for different ram, Mushkin Blacline. The ram makes no difference whatsoever.

If you want my professional opinion -- I'm an engineer myself -- they put too many gimmicks in these things and now all the software bugs are hunting them. That's what it looks like to me from the outside. I bet the dual bios system is part of the problem, which would be very ironic.

If Gigabyte are so concerned about their customers they get somebody to go on here and figure out what is wrong with their entire product line. Every piece of information that we can offer has been posted already.

.

I have kingston and stayed kingston Grey 8GB, however a friend of mine went Corsair and he had the same issue!. He only has to visit this thread and http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,7895.0.html to get what he needs. Besides i've been in direct contact with support since December early frown.gif

Boy, am I sure glad that I found this thread a few months ago when deciding on which board to get for my 2500K--I _almost_ bought a Gigabyte P67, in fact it was in my basket when I found this thread, after which it was promply removed and replaced by an ASUS P67.

This is a major bummer, and a shame. frown.gif

I'm not PM'ing you, because everything you asked for IS in this thread. In fact, this issue and thread can stay VERY public. I hope it impacts customer choices until Gigabyte steps up to address the issue.

My Ram is Corsair CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 - 2 4gb modules, matched pair.
I've also tried, Kingston, ADATA, and Crucial modules.

My board: Z68X-UD3H-B3
Chipset rev 09
Southbridge rev B3

Latest Bios

460GTX SLI (also happens with integrated, or single PCIE GPU)
760Watt PCP&Cooling PSU

2 WD Raptors in Raid Array
2 500GB WD Blacks in Raid Array

also tried with a single intel SSD - same problems.

Its absolutely ridiculous that I've have to build an alternate system because I cannot count on system reliability enough to do my business work on it.

Please don't take this personally, Sin0822, I'm just more for keeping this public at this point. I think anything Gigabyte is going to do to resolve the issue, should be talked about publicly at this point.

you think im going through the thread in every post? ill take down your info, but it is much easier for me when i am ready to send in all the issued system together if i don't have to go through the thread. So you can post it publicly but PMing me too doesn't hurt. Does your box have a red tint or black tint to it? If it has red and it says PCi-E 3.0 on it then its rev 1.3
