Not saying that.

But with this kind of media that we are entering on, videos are more sociable than pictures.

Of course i'm not in the age to be father, but i would like to record everything from my boy.

Pictures too, but videos are awsome....

If you can have that in one camera, why not?

Thats my point

Just my opinion on it obviously, but too slow and inaccurate for my taste I still prefer MF for video.

I've said it before though: The company who comes out with a quick, quiet, reliable AF system for their videos are going to do very well in the HDSLR market, be it Nikon, Canon, Sony, Olympus, Pentax, etc.

yeah, and my thoughts, unfortunatly, are that canon will bring it up first.

But i can live with that if i get it from nikon later.

Thats pretty good, just add the Sigma 30 and you're good to go. That even comes with the 18-55 kit lens so you aren't limited to just the 30. (you don't need a membership to buy) And video AF sucks.

800$ for a sigma 30mm f1.4 and the t2i? I got ripped of big time for mine

You'll never see good AF on DSLRs because there's no audience for it. The slothy AF in Nikons is plenty for schmucks, and pro/semi-pro cinematographers prefer to use manual focus. Don't believe me? Talk to some of them.

Thread Starter
I showed the girlfriend the t2i on the internets. i think she likes it so we are going down to Ritz to take a personal gander at it and its competition.

she did mention she might feel uncomfortable with me pointing a bazooka between her legs during childbirth. made me lol.

neither of us have had a camera with a real lense.
congratulations on the baby.

i would actually recommend a canon with a trade in (one of you canoneers help me out here).

assuming theres a kit lens on the t2i i would recommend a macro too, either the canon 60/2.8 or the tamron 60/2. both of those will let you get close to your baby to take specific feature shots (hands, feet, eyes, etc).
