Looking for a cheap tablet. Help?

Hey, so my laptop has been broken forever and i need something to surf the web with on the go, in the bathroom, and in front of the tv. I only have about 200 to spend more if i wait a month or so, but i don't like waiting lol. So i was wondering what are my options. I have checked out the nextbook line of tabs and they look alright. I mainly just want something to surf the web, and read ebooks/emags/pdfs. Mp3 player and video playback optional as my phone does that to some degree. if anyone knows of any cheap tabs let me know

You could buy a used Netbook under $200 for sure. I recommend ASUS's netbooks. Pretty nice battery life and great quality. They usually either have Windows XP or Windows 7 Starter. Just use whatever is on there or install Ubuntu and your set .

The tablets under $200 are all cheap Chinese tablet that will stop working within a month or so. Also, do NOT buy an Archos tablet, as they are horrible.

Yeah thats what i feared about the chinease knockoffs. A friend of mine got a pandigital novel, and he says it works fine for like facebook, twitter, basic browsing and is also a good ereader. and those are like sub 100 lol

Just check out some netbooks . I bought a eMachines netbook for $200 brand new and an 8 cell battery for $25, and the battery life was about 10 hours. I'm sure you can find something with 8+ hour battery life under $150 on eBay. I would be glad to help you look if you let me know what you are interested in

What about a nook color? You can usely get one for under 200$ over the net and Craigslist Or do what i did order one from hsn and pay flex pay which is ony 59$ a month.

I know people going too bash this so i get too the main point, The nook color can be unlocked too a pretty powerful android tablet which will do everything you listed, I just put on cm7 gingerbread rom and installed a oc kernel and i have mine at 1.2ghzs from stock 800mhzs and it does pretty much everything my galaxy tab 7in oc too 1.4ghzs does for way cheaper...

I use mine for videos and gaming and web browsing which it has no problems with.

Oh forgot too mention that i have all this installed on just a micro sd card which the nook boots right too and if want too go back too the normal rom i just take the sd card out and its back too stock

Heres the forum that makes it all happen.

I agree, for that cheap its probably the nook, the next step would be the Asus Transformer at $399 if you can find one, then after that the Xoom/iPad2.

Ive used one with stock OS and the OS wasnt great but the hardware was nice. I'd be comfortable buying one to put Cyanogen mod on it.
