Power Supply rec for 24/7 load on OC'd i7 950

First off would like to state that I have no clue where this belonged so alas its in the intel cpu section.

Now, my power supply took a huge liquid dump on my face today (nzxt 650w). I had my i7 OC'd to 4GHz @ 1.4ish vcore 24/7 for ~3 months. Then today I got a wild hair and started to flirt with 4.2ghz and that's when the psu died lol. I fold for OCN 24/7 both cpu and gpu (gtx260) so my power usage is always 100%. I used to be able to hit 4ghz on 1.37vcore but lately I have to do 1.4v so obviously psu was failing.

I'm a noob at power supplies so I need some recomendations. I know corsair this, corsair that...yadda yadda. You can get other psus that are the same performance or better for the same price. So if at all possible, refrain from offering a corsair psu.

I plan on pushing 4.2ghz on the i7, want to upgrade to a gtx 460 soon. Other than that, not much. I have 4 sata hard drives, 2 optical, 9 120mm fans, ram OC'd...and that's about it. So the question is, what do I need? I know a 17826283w psu will work but I don't have 679026 bucks to spend either lol. My budget is ~$150. I would like modular but its not a must. I also plan on adding a few more 1TB drives for storage

An Antec Neo Eco 620c would do fine, TX 750 to be on the safe side, although you'll only draw about 500w at most. I've never heard of NZXT making PSUs, and they are probably pretty bad.

well im going to go ahead and recommend a corsair psu against your wishes haha. the best thing is they are very stable and require no balancing due to single 12V rail. TX range is cheaper (non-modular) if youre on a budget but you really do get what you pay for. a TX750 should do the trick well for you.

EDIT: seems Snelan beat me to it^

This is true but the corsairs are generally cheaper [and less efficient and/or not modular]

+1 for tx750

If you need modular, you could always just go with the HX 750 or the x750 too, but I think that the TX 750 is your best price/performance bet.

ok. So looking for ~750w. That will give mw plenty of headroom?

Also, would a 500w ocz suffice for 4ghz i7 24/7 load for the time being? I won't run the gtx260 with it, just the i7

Yea, a 500W will be fine. I'm pretty sure that i7 wont draw more than 130w at peak. So add in 70w for things like RAM, HDD, Mobo, then an extra 100w to be safe, and that's 300watts. So a 500w would be more than enough, just stick with Seasonic, PCPaC, Corsair, and Antec this time.

first gen i5s and i7s start increasing their power draw exponentially once you go above ~3.6ghz, you'd be surprised how much power a 4.0ghz 760 uses.. a 4ghz 920

expect it to be pulling over 400w at max load oc'd that high!

Drop the oc down to 3.8 or 3.6.. it'll use a few hundred watts less power.
