I don't know, figured it would last me through the next couple years of games.

Why do most people by good gaming computers?

You could have got one for nearly the price of your i5 right?

You do realize that no game uses 6 cores AND that my i5 outperforms your Ph II x6 by a wide margin in games and single/double threaded tasks.... right?

It's like saying an athlon quad or C2Q will be "good for the next few years" just because of its core count. You didn't factor in architecture..

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/191?vs=147

clock for clock the x6 only wins by 5-10% in heavily multithreaded apps which you aren't even using.

Didn't you do any research before you bought that chip?

Us I5 guys did our homework before we bought a "GAMING" computer. Name a few games that utilize all 4 cores? Its taken devs this long just code games that utilize more than 1 core, 6 cores is a long ways off. Not bashing, just stating the facts oh and saying your computer automatically sets every game to ultra is false. Maybe Fallout or WOW, but my sig rig doesnt even do that and it handles your setup. Just sayin.

Plus the fact that by the time any game will even need 6 cores to run, the current hexcore CPU's will be very very outdated.

Trying to build a computer to be future proof costs more money then if you just buy what can run games that year and take the money you saved to buy another setup when it can no longer run games how you like them to be ran.
