Creative SB X-Fi Titanium VS Asus Xonar DG

Hey guys


I have had a Creative SB X-Fi Titanium PCI for a few yearrs now. They are ok cards but i have never really tried anything else aprt from onboard cards.

are the Asus Xonar DG range better thna what i have

Xonar DG has a ingraded hp amp, while the X-FI Titanium doesnt. But The X-Fi Titanium have gaming features like EAX3-5 and is a hardware chip. While Xonars do a decent job of emulating EAX5 even tho its not perfect.

If you need a cheap headphone amp, then the Xonar DG, if you want the gaming features of the creative chip then the Titanium, or even a used Auzentech Forte. I know Auzentech sells them at there Refurbish store with one year warranty for 90 dollars,the forte has a hp amp as well but replaceable op-amp sockets while using the X-FI chipset.

i am just trying to see if these card are worth buy more than what i have . what is the main use for a Headphone amp.

I fined the driver support from creative pritty poor

was looking at this

To supply power to drive audiophile grade headphones. So they will output at their highest sound quailty. Tho not all audiophile grade headphones req a amp.

I would stay with the X-Fi.
You can buy a Xonar and compare them directly ,but some of the Creative drivers features will fail after both cards are in the system.
Use Xonar with ASIO for music.
