Well it would definitely help on 16 hour flights where they play the same movie 10 times in a row with the seats broken and the flight attendants being grouchy old ladies.

There startup costs would be covered by the extra revenue they receive from more passengers choosing there airlines. I don't see them charging extra for tickets just because they bought a new jet to fly people.

All I gotta say is gmail. I paid for internet in-flight (about $12 for a 3 1/2 hour flight) and then called home from inside gmail for free. It was a clear call, just a little lag. But I can't complain considering I was 30,000 feet high and moving around 400mph.
