New to OC [e4600]

Thread Starter
Hello, I'm new to this overclocking and I had overclocked my e4600 @2.4Ghz to 2.76Ghz using an Overclocking profile in the Bios. My question is can i get more than 2.76Ghz with manual overclocking in Bios with my system?
Huh?

You will need to stop when you reach the max safe temp for your chip under load. Thus your max OC is dependent on cooling. It is also dependent on other things like your board, PSU, RAM, etc.

Well, you can overclock a tiny bit on the stock cooler, but it isn't recommended.

If you can get a better cooler, I am pretty sure that board could get you to about 3.3ghz with some tweaking.

Basically, you set the divider to 10, the FSB to 333, and bump up the vcore to about 1.38 to 1.4 volts. Pretty easy overclock.

Yea, if you add more volts, you get more heat.

A decent air cooler can keep your processor cooler with more volts, thus you can overclock more.

Yup, that is the stock cooler. You will want something better. Just be aware that installing a better cooler will usually mean removing the motherboard to install it.

Would be a good idea to use intel burn test too test your overclock's stability. Also use something like core temp too keep an eye on your cpu's temperature. What speed is your ram at with the overclock? If you haven't downloaded cpu-z then by all means do that now along with the other programs I suggested.
