I'm tryout out a 16GB SSD in my netbook right now and you are underestimating it. I get 250MB/S read speed for 1/4th the price of a OCZ Vertex.

The sequential reads are irrelevant. What is important is the truly dire random write performance (which is lower than many mechanical drives), which means the drive stutters horribly under normal Windows usage, and can give random pauses of half a second or more every now and again that just make you want to throw your computer out the window.

The onyl reason you get away with it in a netbook is because the cpu is so slow it masks the issue. But even there the performance will be poor.
