I went ahead and took back the 920 and got a 620. I love the idea of the 920, but I simply cannot put my complete trust in the product when the controller software isn't able to communicate with it. The good news is that it was pretty easy to install the second time around! The bad news? I'd love to have a 920 in the future, but I'm just going to assume my software environment will never recognize it and will have to pass until some new iteration comes out. Ah, well.

Quick question: Antec wanted me to turn off Q-Fan monitoring in BIOS with the 920. Should I turn it back on with the 620 since it doesn't have controller software?

Sorry to hear, I also went through yet another headache. I purchased the Corsair H100 and received a unit with a faulty molex connection for power. I took that one back today and crossed my fingers on an exchange. Thankfully the next one worked like a charm.

Not sure on your question, enjoy the 620 though! Glad that one is working.

Yea you can turn that on. Adjust it how you see fit. The fan will be controlled on the motherboard. I'm really bummed your unit most likely was defective. Same with KidkB. corsair's track record with me is pretty awesome. Glad it's all resolved now though. How do you like the H100?

Yeah, after having the same thing happen with my first H100 purchase I'm willing to bet I just had a faulty Kuhler 920 unit.

I really like the H100. It isn't as big and cumbersome as I initially thought it to be and it's very quiet at full tilt which surprised me. I haven't touched anything as far as overclocking at the moment, but my cpu temps have ranged from 29-32 C idle and C 34-36 under load. I plan on getting additional fans for push\\pull.

Anyhow, I probably wouldn't have purchased it initially because of the price, but I got such a good deal on my motherboard I had some extra funds to spare. But I'm definitely happy with it so far.

Thanks for the kind words, KidKB. I haven't used my computer much in the last few days, but so far I'm showing up cooler than I was even in BIOS, which seems to be the most reliable indicator. I'm going to follow Cloud's advice and try turning the Q-Fan back on.

I don't know how the H100 would work for me, but it might work well. My PSU is on the bottom of my case, and I assume the radiator could be mounted over the two 140mm fan spaces. I'm probably going to just stick with the 620 for now, though.

One question about the Corsairs, just out of curiosity. I've seen some say they prefer the Antec because it takes air out instead of dumping it into the case, but wouldn't that be controlled by how you install the fans? I believe the Corsairs and Antecs are made by the same company, so I assume they could work the same (but am probably wrong).

Right now, I'm just in a pull configuration myself. I've got the extra 120mm, but I need to get long enough screws! I could have nicked them from the 920 I returned, but I know Fry's is just going to stick it on the shelf and I'd be screwing somebody up (though, really, they're getting used thermal on the pump face and already-applied adhesives on the motherboard bracket ).

Edit: I put in a ticket with Antec yesterday to ask about the Q-Fan. I just checked my e-mail and they answered that it should be disabled with the 620.

Same problem here with my Antec 920

Cannot Connect to Chill Control device.
Check USB connection on device and restart the chill control application.

I have the same issue, sometimes it will even connect and randomly just stop working. Getting rather old, and antec support is useless so far, about to pitch it.

they should make a new driver for this. everyone have the same problem, I just buyed this computer, didn't even get this **** to work before they sent it to me
