OC'ing 1055T @ 3.8: Looking for Help

Thread Starter
So, I was looking into using my x6 for -bigadv folding, and it seems 3.8 is the minimum for an x6 to complete a -bigadv WU before the deadline.

I already followed the guide to set up and run F@H in VM, and it's reporting 8 threads like it should, so that ends all good.

The biggest Issue I have right now, is that I can't get it to run stable at anything more than @ 3.6, and I don't know exactly what part is wrong.

So to start with the part where I ask the questions...

1: Is my CPU cooler good enough to run at 3.8 without getting to hot? (current temps are about 45-50 while folding)
___a: If my cooler is good enough, is it just not working properly/needs to be done a second time to get it right?

2: What are some normal settings for a 1055T @ 3.8 for me to compare against?

3: What happens when I try to go over 3.6, is that after anywhere from a few minutes to about an hour, the system just resets without a blue screen or anything. What is most likely failing at that point?

BTW, last settings I tried...
Code:
Frequency: 272 MHz
CPU mult: x14
NB mult: x9
HT mult: x7
CPU volt: 1.45v
NB volt: 1.35v

Your settings look solid...

I have the same except my FSB is at 286...

What is your memory at?

Try

300FSB
3800MHz CPU (Around that speed by using the multi)
3000MHz Northbridge
1600 or 1333MHz what ever memory settings you use.
HT Speed close to 2000 if you can or lower if possible

CPU V @ 1.4V-1.42V
CPU-NB @ 1.37V
NB @ 1.25V
HT @ 1.23V

Hope this help you

I highly doubt he can run his cpu-nb at 3Ghz with his cooling.

It's possible, especially that the CPU is around 3.8GHz, anything higher, than his cooling woulden't be very sufficent.

I would try 3.7GHz @ 1.37V, getting the Northbridge to 3000MHz is a must

I also doubt the hyper 212 is enough cooling for a hexacore while folding, even at 3.8 the 1.45 Vcore is going to push some heat. The 212 would be ok for a quad core but I wouldn't hold my breath on the 1055T. My guess would be time for an upgrade.

If I can get 3.8 to run STABLE at ~1.41 then all should be well enough to keep at least below 56C under load. But I also fear that that won't do. Anyway, I'll try some more, including the posted set to see what I can do.
Otherwise, I'll be stuck at 3.6 until I can afford better cooling. (which will only be after I can afford to buy a better video card...)

This are my settings for this speed:

300x12.5
1.4V
3GHz NB, 1.325 vCPU/NB
2.1GHz HT

It should run okay under the CM 212+ with proper fans

So a little bit of testing...
I couldn't get any [300x12.5] settings to even boot, so I reverted to just [272x14]
Results:
1.4v = No POST
1.4125 = 3-4 cores Hardware Failure in Prime95 (Blend)
1.425 = Stable up to 10-15 minutes, but reaches 60C core temps.

So ya, one of a few things... Either not good enough system for cooling in my case, improperly attached cooler, or just not good enough.

Prime95 might be a bit more of a torture than F@H, I'm not sure, but I'll try folding and see if the temps stay down low enough. (I was running 3.65 stable at 1.425 before without temps above 50C core)
