However, I too hope that Halo 4 doesn't falter in campaign or multiplayer. Halo is my favorite FPS and the core gameplay is my favorite kind of gameplay. Also, it is one of my favorite fictional universes and if they screw that up... well it will be a deeply disturbing thing. I hope 343 can at least somewhat hold a tiny spark to the flame that was Bungie's Halo.

I loved the Reach campaign and story, but the whole transition to appeal to a more "casual audience" was incredibly annoying to me. I played online for a week before armor lock, the DMR being garbage, and reticule bloom made me rage quit the game forever. That's why I kind of see Halo 4 as a make it or break game for me as far as my love for Halo. I've read all the books and I love Bungie's development of the universe, but Halo is a game and it needs to have the great gameplay found in CE, 2, and 3. I guess when/if Halo 4 annoys me I can play the CE remake.

Loved 1,2 and 3,not really played ODST or reach but i have a feeling this latest venture could end up a bit upsetting for Halo fans.

I mean its not gona be the same if its not Bungie making it,is it?
Maybe it could be good but i have my doubts,im also kinda hoping they can manage to keep Kinect away from this aswell,i dont think the two should get together...ever.

I'm looking forward to Halo 4. Not having Bungie on board is a minor concern, but I remember reading somewhere (Game Informer, maybe?) that 343 has several ex-Bungie veterans on their staff, so hopefully things will come out alright.

343, the studio producing this game, is Bungie's people. 343 is the part of Bungie dedicated solely to Halo games since Bungie as a whole wants to move on to other ventures.

Why did you leave? The skill gap in Reach MLG is much greater than in previous games. If you don't roll into the MLG playlist with a team of 4, you're going to get smacked by to4's. Reach takes a lot more teamwork than in previous Halo games. Team-shooting is integral to winning games. Bloom takes some getting used to, but unlike a lot of people, I don't think introducing bloom to the game made it any less competitive. Only amateurs let DMR fights come down to who can trigger-spam faster.

Also, DMR fights are more dynamic than BR fights in past Halo games. Because of bloom, crouching actually helps in making the bloom reset faster, so you'll often see people crouching as well as strafing and jumping in DMR fights in Reach, whereas crouching had no use whatsoever in H3 and previous games. Furthermore, the addition of sprint makes games much faster-paced. Overall, I like playing Halo Reach MLG and I think a lot of people are resistant to change and are missing out simply because Reach is very different to previous Halo games.

Here's a POV of Best Man just tooling on Loki, Assault, and some other pros. He was pulling host, but whatever...

I disagree. Reach has a bigger skill gap than previous Halo games by far. Solution -- don't play regular playlists and play MLG. Armor Lock is a pos, yes, but the DMR isn't garbage. It's a 5-shot kill, meaning it takes better aim than the BR, which was a 4-burst kill (and even then, it only needed 10 out of the 12 bullets to hit to kill), to use well. The BR was more noob-friendly by far.

The bloom renders hapless trigger-spamming ineffective unless we're talking very close DMR battles, so knowing how to pace shots will serve you well. To be honest, I don't see bloom as a big setback. Whenever I find myself in a DMR battle, it is never at a distance where bloom becomes so big that I can't even hit center mass of my opponent (I aim center mass until shields are dropped and then zoom in for the headshot kill).

OT: It'll be interesting to see where 343i takes this franchise...No doubt some people will be screaming for Bungie to re-take the reigns, though...Can't satisfy everyone...

Eh, i'm not going to have high expectations for this game...it'll only lead to major disappointment if it does turn out to be bad. I'll wait for reviews on this one.

This is turning out just like the COD series...
