Wait till late august or 2500k now? - Page 10

I don't think asus has released a z68 sabortooth yet, however I've heard nothing but good things about the AE4.

If you go P67 you don't get the lucid chip, which really only affects your ability to encode with quick sync which is amazingly fast.

I'm thinking about the same thing. But trying to wait until Bulldozer comes to see how well it performs and if I'm disappointed I'll go with a 2500k. Maybe Intel drops the prices of 2500k when bulldozer comes.

You know how it is! One person's post something that winds you up.
So you reply "a bit heavy".
And then you offend everyone else with the same Chip/hardware

It ain't easy sometimes

I'd make the move to Sandy Bridge now!
And having SB, I don't care what BD or Ivy Bridge bring. Because I have enough GHz with SB

I got trolled into buying several AMD chips and through my own ignorance and innocence allowed myself to be believe "I never bottleneck with my quad sli 570s". You can ask the girls, when I had AMD I was never happy with the performance. No matter what I did it wasn't there. Several chips later, and constant reassurance on the AMD forum that the next upgrade offered "more performance" lead me to get no where fast over several months.
I've said before, that My Q9650 was a good chip
But, in reality it was rubbish
It just wasn't quick enough

Sorry Q9650 owners!
But this is AMD and I can say that here

But Sandy Bridge, is fast enough for what I want
And I really do hope, that BD will be in the same league

If you'd use that waste of die space Intel calls an integrated GPU then by all means go Intel. Otherwise it might be wise to wait another two months to see how the competition does.

I agree, its a bit too easy to get some ones meaning wrong when you are just typing.

I just wish I knew what AMD and their contractors are doing right now with BD

are they redesigning parts, refining the techniques to make BD, mass producing the updated parts...testing their upgrades....

what are they doing, and when are they going to tell us something CONCRETE

You should probably just get the 2500k unless you really prefer AMD or don't mind waiting to see how bulldozer does.

You can't really go wrong with the 2500k. It is EASILY powerful enough for anything you will need in the immediate future.

If this gives you any kind of reference I am using a AMD Phenom II x4 925, and it is a piece of crap compared to a 2500k. Yet it still is easily powerful enough for my gaming needs, and I play A LOT of games. Starcraft 2, Witcher 2, Fallout 3, Civilization 5, Crysis, Dead Space 2, Mass Effect, Dragon Age of Origins. All these games perform great on very high or maxed settings with even the 925.

So if you get the 2500k then that is just ridiculously fast for gaming. I don't get 100% gpu usage on most games though which seems to indicate that I do indeed have a bottleneck with my cpu. Although I just started playing Witcher 2 and it actually is bringing my GPU usage to a constant 100% except for caves and stuff. So yes I would benefit from a faster processor obviously. But even my 925 is bringing my GTX 560 ti to 100% usage in a new game such as Witcher 2. So maybe new gaming technology can fully utilize high end gpus even with sub par processors.
