Windows 7 freezes after boot

Okay, so when I start up my sig rig, it gets stuck at the Welcome screen spinning, and then finally boots into the OS after about a minute. After 30 seconds in the OS, it freezes. Ctrl + Alt + Delete doesn't work, nothing. What could be going wrong?

Run a SeaTools surface scan of your HDD.

It says that SeaTools is for Seagate HDDs. Would it still work with mine? (I assume yes.)

EDIT: None of them detect my hard drive.

To OP,
Does your pc needs hard reset after the freeze to turn on....or does it gets restarted by pressing the reset button.

I mean it happens sometimes with me too but in my case it needs hard reset(i need to flip the psu switch at the back to reset my system...the power on and reset button on the case does not wok)...........??

Faulty HDD may be possibility. Have you tried other SATA port?
I had kinda same problem <.<. Boot up into windows, 30 sec->freeze then had to reset it. Must admit I bashed my PC so it sometimes unfreezed xD.

As far as HDD detection you may have greater success by placing your SATA controller into 'IDE' mode.

Okay, so Windows startup fixer or whatever its called has managed to fix my HDD. Should I RMA it or keep it running?
Go to your hdd manufacturers site and download the utility to check the drive. Do not use other manufacturers utilities. Only the manufacturers of your hdd one. If its shows errors. RMA it

If it was just a chkdsk then you should be good. Occasionally boot loops etc can be caused by corruption. It might be worth still checking your drive to rule that out as far as the 'source'.
