He might just want to taste Android, no problem with that. But if he's getting one while his contract is up, I also suggest keeping the iPhone for a little while longer. Fall 2011 has some nice Android phones upcoming with Ice Cream Sandwich and Tegra 3.

Seriously though, Galaxy S II, it will be the best phone, and it WILL be worth the wait. It doesn't have the GPS issues like the Galaxy S I did.
^ This, I love my Galaxy S or if you don't mind Verizon the Droid X2 looks pretty nice.

I looked up that Evo 3D, and it seems to be for the Sprint network, I'm on AT&T. So that one isn't going to work. Also, no one in my family uses Sprint, so switching to that carrier is no good. (I can't anyway, and that will be explained later in this post)

And look, I get there's likely to be some great phones coming out for AT&T, I said I would give it a month and see how things play out, but for now I am focused on the HTC Inspire. ^_^

As far as the iPhone 4 vs the HTC Inspire "upgrade" goes, well...

That's just it. I'm not looking at upgrading because I think it beat the iPhone 4, I'm just interested in having an Android phone. Maybe when the iPhone 5 is out, I'll switch back. Who knows? I have no loyalties. XD

My contract isn't exactly up. I'll explain, because I'm sure you're wondering how I'm able to upgrade. My nonna is an AT&T customer, yet she isn't interested in upgrading her phone. She's one of them types that keeps the same phone for years.

So, when I got my iPhone 4, I gave her my 3gS. She loves it. Text messaging, going on her Facebook, playing games (it's like the most amasing thing to her haha). So I told her that if I can use her upgrade option (which she won't use), I'll give her my previous phone. So she'll get my iPhone 4. Although, she told me the 3gS is perfectly fine.

I personally am up for an upgrade on my account on 12/28/2011. Not too far away. So even when (if) I buy the HTC Inspire for a mere $99, I'm gonna be eligible for a new upgrade not far off.

I don't mind Verizon, however I am not gonna be changing carriers. Also, I am not interested in slide out keyboards, assuming it has one.

Thanks for your input everyone.

I'm gonna update my post with my decision.

So you did piggyback on the upgrade option just like me lol. My mom's contract is up and she doesn't want to upgrade yet, so I used that opportunity to snag an Inspire 4G myself. Got it rooted and installed CyanogenMod 7 as soon as I got home. :3
