[EA]Battlefield 3 Multiplayer Reveal and Frostbite 2 Features - Page 6

Some of you are being ridiculous with whether you can max it out or not. TBH aside from more destruction, if you can max out BC2 you can max out BF3. Who cares if you can't max it out at 60 fps with a single GPU @ 64 players?

As long as I get over 30 fps I'll be happy.

Trust me. I think like you, and I would have owned two GTX 570s right now if Crysis 2 delivered the goods. I max out everything and if it takes two cards to max MP, I'm ready. I would like the same quality to be carried over to MP, but those with min-range PCs will feel left out and say the game is coded poorly. There are more peole with GTX 460s than GTX 580s. They can turn down the settings, but would they do it? No.

In general, for optimal responsiveness, 60fps is ideal.
Some people even like to game at 120fps.

Good point, but DICE could always include Ultra High settings which will be secretly hidden in the option menu.

My biggest fear is, that people play battlefield games mainly for the MP, so whats the point in giving graphically amazing SP if people will spend 99% of their time in an average looking MP.

Yeah saw these live. I would have preferred something different for the MP trailer. Too much action to actually see anything lol.

But the tank SP sequence is epic.

And this probably wont even require too much horsepower to max.

True, some like it that fast in fps, and I understand. Its personal choice on how "smooth" and "good looking" you think a game should run, its subjective.

It also has to do with monitor refresh rates and people really going all out with 3D and what not. For me, if it runs over 30-35 FPS I'm very happy and can turn fraps off.

hey hey my GTX460 gets a performance GPU score of 18,223 and its only one card (granted over volted and the fan at 100% but still )

I agree tho....they should make games for people with the 400 and 500 series (ATI equivalents) for the true enthusiasts but then some wont be able to afford it so IMO they should make the game kinda off METRO 2033 that you can choose the different DX9,10,&11 modes to match your systems performance levels. Like make the game be able to look ok with minimal hardware but have soo many settings in the graphics department that you can ramp it up to the XTREME!!!! lol

Exactly, I was hoping BF3 will be a game by enthusiast for enthusiasts.
Hopefully the MP wont be much worse than SP.

I agree with higher settings, but that will involve the same kind of polish the SP received, which will require extra time and money. DICE is using the projected console revenue to make the PC version better. I thank them for that. So I do agree MP should be the main focus.

I ran BC2 around 35-45fps @ 2560x1600. It's was very playable, but when I added another card the game was a lot smoother. I'm hoping I can get 40fps when I get a triple monitor setup for this game.
