OCZ Agility 3 or Corsair Force 3 - Page 2

The Corsair Force 3 has been reported to be having many issues ATM. Corsair seems to be blaming SandForce for it, so for right now I'd stay away from any SSDs that use SF-2200 controllers until SandForce releases updated firmware.

Agreed Just caught that yesterday corsair has recalled all the new drives and OCZ is having problems as well although they seem to be trying to fix it with a firmware update

am just curios, why don't you consider a vertex 3 instead?

I may actually.. my local shop had the 120GB Agility 3 on sale with rebates for $199, the Vertex3 was $280.

Is it worth the extra $80 for the Vertex3?

In short, no. It's not worth it. Long story - read this review. It will answer most of your questions

Hmmmm... great review! After looking at that and reading more on the reliability of the Intel SSDs, my question now turns to... you guessed it!

Is it worth getting the Intel 510 ($299) over the Agility 3 ($199). I'm thinking even tho the Intel is a solid SSD, I don't think it is quite worth the 50% price increase over the Agility 3.

Or should I just save my $, fix my 60GB Vertex 2 and hope that its enough...

I would try and fix your Vertex 2 first and see how it performs when Windows is installed and aligned properly and AHCI mode is on in BIOS. Transition from SSD to SSD is not as noticeable as HDD to SSD anyway.

HELP!!! So I changed the regedit value for the AHCI, but when I go to change it in the BIOS and then save/exit my PC stalls and won't boot up.. all i see after the post is a flashing cursor.

There are many things that could go wrong. Are you sure you got the registry fix right? You could accidently screw your boot that way. Or maybe in BIOS something went wrong. Or maybe one of your HDDs/CD-ROMs doesn't like AHCI mode. It's weird though.. Maybe TwoCables knows better.

Sorry I was in a bit of a panic. my apologies for the multiple posts.

I'm 100% sure I got the regedit fix right. I have my Vertex2 SSD on SATA 1 port and my 1TB Seagate HDD on SATA 6.
