Really need adise for this dilemma

Does connecting the cpu 12v plug onto the mobo connector (while it is powered up), kill your mobo, or your psu ?

I do have a dead psu (turns on but doesn't deliver any power to cpu, only the fans and lights work).
I do also have one lightly darkened and damaged pin on the cpu slot, but the pin doesn't seem to be used (non critical for operation).

I'm afraid to hook it up that it will kill my psu again, or something else...

Please advise ?

It is possible that you shorted something out. Why plug the Mobo power in while your PSU is plugged into the wall?

Don't ask bro. I ended up throwing a dead psu three stories down through the window. I guess only way to see if the mobo is also damaged is to test it...
