3DTV setup (help)

Thread Starter
I've been tasked to build or find a computer that will be used to display to a 3DTV - not necessarily this but something like it.

I'm in the physics department of my university and my group does astrophysics simulations (supernovas and such). Lots of cool models the professors want to impress folks with, so they've asked me to set up a 3D display.

I've been given a lot of leeway in deciding what to get, so atm nothing is certain. Money isn't a huge deal (see TV above) but extravagance should be avoided.

I'm leaning towards Nvidia's solution 3DTV Play, but only because I'm a fanboy (that and I'd like to highjack the computer for my CUDA projects). So my current tentative setup is built around that.

Assuming I could build it myself, I'm looking at:

CPU: Intel Core i5/7
Mobo: P67
RAM: ~8GB
PSU: ~850W
GPU: GTX 570

Any comments, suggestions on improving this setup? Would a 570 give reasonably good performance for 3DTV (1080p, 240Hz) ? The stuff we're moving to 3D is basically visualized simulation data, but it's pretty high resolution/FPS stuff. We're not necessarily going for GREATEST 3D EVAR but definitely trying to avoid "not worth it" performance.

Also, if anyone wants to talk me out of the NVIDIA solution I'm all ears, or if you feel pre-built options from, say, Dell would be adequate then by all means ruin my plans
