My ps/2 NKRO realforce doesn't have this issue. I have a Deck legend that I've done NKRO tests on and never noticed any sticking, but I can't confirm that since my mom has it now.

It's certainly NOT an inherent issue with NKRO over ps/2, just one with that specific controller, and perhaps any keyboards that use a similar one.

It going unnoticed until this topic was made I think shows how rarely NKRO is actually used by people.

Also that this thread was dead for the longest time shows it's not exactly a big issue.

Remember, Keyboard Rage is a dangerous thing.

6KRO over USB FTW! If you need 18KRO (for that EXTRA feeling of safety despite gaming with a mouse) get a Leopold or Ducky G2.

The point here is that I am not saying this problem affects me or anything. I am just trying to raise some awareness here about a possible problem regarding Filco keyboards (and the way it goes it seems that only Filcos experience this problem over PS/2), for the 0.01% who needs to use more than 13-14 keys at once.

At the same time, I hope somehow this message will get across to Filco's engineers or their OEMs so it will be fixed in the next revision. If something isn't working well, although it may not be a critical problem, I think it's better that at least it gets discovered and have some chance of a fix rather than keep it hidden forever.

After doing a headplant into your keyboard I would hope so.

Just a heads-up, I managed to contact Diatek through my local distributor, and this is their reply:

Hello Jerry

I am sorry for my late reply on this one.

Regarding this NKRO issue, we have tried to see the problem the customer is referring.

Basically, keyboards consist of a large matrix of keys, all of which are monitored by an on-board processor (called the "keyboard encoder".)

The specific processor (1) varies from keyboard-to-keyboard but they all basically do the same thing: Monitor which key (s) are being pressed/released

and send the appropriate data to the host.

This processor takes care of all the debouncing and buffers any data in its 16-byte buffer, if needed.

Our motherboard contains a "keyboard controller" (2) that is in charge of decoding all of the data received

from the keyboard and informing our software of what's going on.

All communication between the host and the keyboard uses an IBM protocol.

Our NKRO function is difficult to be experimented with Aquakey test software to determine NKRO.

However our keyboards are still NKRO and can be used no problem with PS/2

on notepad or word text besides this free software.

When you press randomly and ALT key gets in act, press one more time to release. This is a regular action.

Please advise your customer that programmed software inside of Majestouch 2

is different from those standard on Topre. As a result, testing result shows differently.

For your information, we have tried on Leopold one and still got the same symptom of ours.

Please explain to him/her accordingly.

Good to know it happens on Leopolds too. I thought so.

Like I said, no biggie. I even think 6KRO over USB is fine. 18KRO over USB on a Leopold if you are paranoid.

anyway after what they said, i did more testing and found out only modifiers are affected. keys are not actually stuck themselves, though aquakeytest reports them as being so.
? I tried using three different apps. The stuck ALT is the only particularly annoying one and easy to spot as your keyboard acts funky. The OP also reports that symptom.

Safer to stick with USB if you are prone to bouts of keyboard rage.
