Recommend me a GPU! - Page 3

Yeah I'd suggest that too. That PSU even has enough juice to run 2 in CF.

Exactly $350, free shipping. $330 after mail in rebates.

Corsair PSU's are pretty much considered the best PSU's(Those Rosewill, CM and Antec ones cant compare) and the 6950 demolishes every game you posted.

I believe that these two are far better(especially the PSU) than anything else that has been posted.

You have to go 6950 over 560, it's simply a better card unless your are folding.

Would the 650W version be enough?

A 650w should cover crossfire 6950s. Not a ton of room for headroom (ie. high speed fans, water cooling etc) but fine in a regular setup.

The Antec Eco I suggested earlier is a rebadged Seasonic unit...OP will not go wrong with that for the same price.

I notice in your System Signature that you don't game at 1080p --- your screen is only 1680x1050. Some of the cards that are being suggested may be overkill for the games you've listed at your resolution. Not that this is an issue -- since you can always overbuy without issues, but you run into trouble if you underbuy....

If you've got your heart set on dropping that exact amount of money rather than buying less for less -----then my suggestion - I won't vary too much from everyone else. I say go with the HD6950 and whatever 650 watt or greater "brand name" PSU you can get. Some people get all ..... defensive... about which PSU is better, I'm not even going to bother suggesting a specific brand because it will most likely alienate me and, in all honestly, Ive used 6 different brand name PSUs over the last 4 years in different builds and never had an issue with any of them.

All in all - you can't really go wrong with any of the suggestions~

+1

PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371015
Antec Earthwatts 650w

GPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102921
6950 1gb

PSU is completely overkill and future proof, and the video card will obliterate any of those games, and since it has 1gb of memory it would be perfectly suited to your monitor since you game at 1680x1050
post #30 of 30
i would suggest a 6959 REFERENCE so you can unlock it to 6970 and a good 750W PSU like corsair hx750
