Hey! You quoted me in that scalding. I said the same. But since he listed 1866mhz as the highest he was looking at, i chose that one. If you quoted me because of

... its because i have had some boards that run some memory better then others, ehem TA890FXE ehem, but the Sabertooth should have no problems.

BTW, nice board and RAM!

But the mobo isn't a factor in the memory speed. It is the IMC. Which is on the chip not the mobo. So the max memory speed on mobos now days is a bunch of crap. Because most Phenom II x2, x3 and x4 (C3 version) max out about 1900. So Asus is going to put the max to the most likely cpu most people will run in it. So he can run DDR3 2000 in it without a problem.

Gotcha on that part. Thats why I said to run it at 1600mhz at tighter timings until the release of BD. Then it should run at 1866 with no problems, even though most Thubans will do much higher already.

Ok. You are not getting any of my post.
I'm says is that. That Asus mobo can handle higher memory speed than 1866. IMC on Thubans or BD is the factor on memory speed not the mobo, because the IMC is on the chip not the mobo.
Thanks you and quit troll on stuff you really don't know anything about. Have a nice day.

Lol, You have to be 3 sheets to the wind, but thats a forgivable sin. You just completely contradicted yourself. Oh well.

BTW, your CPU-NB doesnt have to be 3 times memory speed for your memory to run at that speed. 1600mhz, (800mhz) will run fine at 1600mhz at 2000mhz cpu-nb.

You will bottleneck your memory and this is that AMD says about memory speed and NB speed ratio. So please read about before you say something that dumb. All true AMD ocers will say the samething with Memory speed ratio to NB speed.

Well if it makes a difference i do "agree" on the cpu-nb 3 times better then memory speed, just I know its not required. Bottleneck is true.

Example
1333 (667) = 2000
1600 (800) = 2400
1800 (900) = 2700
1866 (933) = 2799
2000 (1000) = 3000

Please read it. It say to run them right. Mean it will bottleneck with anything below the NB speed of 3000.
