S1283 variant questions

I have a regular old original version S1283 with a socket 775 mounting bracket on my c2d.

A few questions:

Can I take this cooler with me to an 1155 I5 2600k board? A lot of coolers seem to do both 775/1155, so can this one? Would I need a different bracket?

If not, is the SD1283 Gaia the same thing? It looks the same, but claims 1155 compatability.

What's the deal with the dark knight? Different color and aluminum heat pipes? Is it better than the other versions of the 1283?

You can use it on a 1155, but you need a bracket: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835233039

My DK S1283 actually came with one.

Is the hyper 212 or 212+ that everyone seems to be using better than the Xig?
