Purpose built folding rig

If I were to throw this into a folding rig, how many PPD could I reasonably expect? Also, is there room for improvement here? Thanks.

Those are just the "Why not at this point" components. I can always tone them down if you can recommend other items.

What kind of mad-man would get folding gear like that... oh wait, me rofl.
24GB is PLENTY of RAM get a 360 RAD system not H70s, i have personally gone just Native Linux on this system since its just for folding, it gives me about a 50% increase over windows, so scrap the GPUs, get X5650's i OCed them stable to 4.2Ghz why get X5680s on a OCable board...
If this is for a dedicated rig you need to get the fastest memory available but you dont need more than 12Gb on a SR-2. It will be a waste to use GPU's for folding because it will kill the cpu ppd and bonuses.
I would get a custom loop or at least look into the new H100(dual rad) and please run Linux on this to maximize PPD.

To answer the OP's question,SR-2's overclocked to 3.3,3.4 (just estimating here) bring 140Kppd without any gpu folding involved. I think I saw this 140K figure discussed here on OCN.

PPD is very dependant on just what Stanford decides to do with the new type -bigadv. The end result is not totaly in your hands. Myself the SR-2 avenue offers the a very good degree of still being able to work the new units well with not being a hunk of hardware without a job to do if it was not for folding. Perhaps a 12core (6/6) cpu will offer a cheaper than going the SR-2 route for working the newest bigadvs.

If you want to know all about sr-2 folding, check out the dc subforum on [H]... they all have them

I must ask, what is the dc (that must be distributed computing) sub-forum on [H] what is [H]?

As I said ppd dependant on Stanford as Grandpa posts that points have been adjusted today.
