Ok im looking at buying a SSD or two. an found this ssd at microcenter.
Does anyone have one or used one? Are the speeds they claim close to what you get? if this is not worth the money please recommend me one in the $110 price range. Im planning on using it for OS benchmarks an maybe one game. So a 50GB to 64GB is a must. Thanks

That's interesting that its sandforce driver and sata II...its probably garbage though.

Windows uses mostly 4k read/write speeds anyways. The max read/write doesn't mean as much in terms of general performance, just something to get your dick hard.

lol found this in the newegg comments on that...what an idiot...need to turn off hibernate

Cons: When used as a boot drive, this will, of course, reliably crash your computer on wakeup from sleep. Latest firmware (3.4.6 I believe) and drivers as of May 2011. I have had no such problems using it as a secondary drive. This is pretty intolerable, as most people, including myself, buy SSDs intending to use them as a boot drive.
lol and now hes using it as a storage drive...fail

That's a rebranded adata, it's a decent drive but the jury is out on its longevity.

How to tweak it.

  • Crucial m4 or C300 (older) for overall performance.
  • OCZ Agility or Vertex (faster) for speed. Some people reported faults.
  • Intel for reliability.
Those are the most recommended. Other brands I simply don't know but all three above are very solid ones.
