I need help choosing a new motherboard

Hi

I feel that my current motherboard the ASUS M2N32 Wireless has served it's purpose it''s been with me for a long time and has served me well but it's time to move on.

I intend to go the intel i7 route this time and would like a reccomendation on lower high end card that can serve me for a few years to come.
I am in sweden but about-ish $300 equivalent is what i intend to spend.
It would be prefferable if the card had a larger then normal ammount of DDR3 slots as i'm an amateur photographer and handle 18Mpix images regularly.
It also needs to be compentent at gaming.

Regarding cpu the i7-960 seems to be a good budget choise that i can use until lthe 8-cores have come and gone down a bit in price.
I also want to get good performing RAM that uses the max size (4gb?) on each ddr3 slot so i can get maxed out on RAM in the future.

Other then that it'll be a gaming rig that get's a transplant from my old computer of the bit's i won't upgrade at this time.

I usually let my computers grow organically so i can get expensive components one at a time. That's why i want to have a very good and "future proof" motherboard as it's the part i change the least often.

Are you sure you want to go LGA 1366?
Sandy Bridge really surpasses their more expensive counterparts in, well, almost everything.
Also, the new octocores will use the LGA 2011 socket, so you'd need to buy a new board, too.

EDIT: Maybe you'd want to wait until Bulldozer and Ivy Bridge show up.

+1

If your motherboard isn't broken, save money for the new generation!
