First build - thoughts? - Page 2

Just stay away from the Corsair GX, they seem to be the exception.

IMO, corsair TX series are the best.

my build is almost identical, even your targetting case (my mobo doesn't say LE though, not sure what that really means, i know, i'm first timer too)

i just have my ram slightly worse than yours

good choices on everything i guess, im worrying about having to upgrade my rams later on when i start the OC going(haven't asked around about this yet), but you wont have that problem

Your different components all look good as well, the only major thing I've really been concerned about has been compatibility, but I'm fairly sure that they are compatible!

@HarryFM, thats a great choice of components IMO, a very good choice for a beginner.
Can I just ask, did you pick these all by yourself?

Why dont you go for the GTX 480 or a 6950 (unlock it)?
Same performance but then you could buy an SSD.

i thought 480 was a heat generator?

not sure, i just read from this forum and have seen this comment showing up OVER AND OVER AND OVER

i personally own a 4870 and it gave me the classic driver type problems, i i decided to go back to Nvidia at least this time

by the way Harry what monitor you got?

Hmm, I have been reading these forums and many people say that ATIs drivers as of late are rock solid.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/293?vs=306

I just wonder whether a £100 difference is worth the small performance jump to the OP.
