I'd prefer performance to box art.. but man I can't help myself.

that looks freaking sweet.

Then it will over clock worse than thuban, allowing for process shrinkage.

Average clocks are usually like 4.0

Thurban's average OC is 4-4.1 GHz on a good board like the CH IV.

I expect the 6 core bulldozer to OC to 4.7-4.8 GHz on average. The process shrink should allow about 0.5GHz better clocks given the same amount of cores and AMD has new power saving features, such as not allowing the clock to fire unnecessarily, which should further boost OCablility. The 8 core may not clock quite as well and will likely average about 4.4-4.5GHz clocks, IMO.

That is a polite and generous way of putting it.

True.

Clocks do not matter as long as if it's as fast as SB.
For instance, go research the Athlon 64,it beat the P4 & Pentium D with lower clock speeds.

Bulldozer's minimum requirement is "first gen Core i7" (i.e. Nehalem) IPC.
Agreed. AMD knows they need to beat 1st. gen i7,or else they'll just become a GPU manufacturer.
There was word of no FX display at E3,yet we seen cool stuff like a FX system showing a Dirt3 demo, and a metal FX tin.

I was referring to AMD's official announcement of the return of the FX branding. Not sure if it was just a press release or they held an event at E3. I do know they have a Scorpius demo at E3.

From AMD (6/7/2011):
Quote:
The FX brand is associated with AMD’s fastest processors and most powerful platforms - those designed for unrestrained PC performance for the ultimate gaming and HD entertainment experiences. In addition, these processors and platforms drive rich visuals for graphics-intensive applications and high-resolution AMD Eyefinity multi-monitor configurations. The first platform to earn the FX title, the “Scorpius” platform, will feature the now-available AMD 9-series chipset motherboards and AMD Radeon™ HD 6000 Series graphics cards, plus the upcoming “Zambezi” unlocked, native eight-core processor.1

“AMD’s FX brand will enable an over-the-top experience for PC enthusiasts,” said Leslie Sobon, vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, AMD. “By combining an unlocked, native eight-core processor, the latest in chipset technology, and AMD’s latest graphics cards, FX customers will enjoy an unrivalled feature set and amazing control over their PC’s performance.”
