I love the "Unlock the world's first 8-core desktop CPU"

..."Oh wait, we already did"

But weren't there 8 core Xeons?

Key word is "desktop" Xeon is designated as a "server" chip.

They meant an unlocked multiplier, which is one of the selling points of bulldozer. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the 8 core xeons had an unlocked multiplier. Also, xeon is Intel's server line-up, which are almost always uber expensive with low (ie 2.50 or around) clock speeds.

True. If Bulldozer is as good as that shiny awesome metal box, then selling all of their CPU's as "Unlocked" will be a good selling point vs. having to buy the more expensive "K unlocked" CPU.
