Battlefield will be shunned outright on consoles, and by a good portion of the PC community for this reason. It takes too much skill. You can't run into a Battlefield match and do what I like to call "Playing MW2", where you run around and try to be John Rambo or John McLain, a one man army.

TL;DR: Battlefield makes anyone who is "good" (which is objective when it comes to CoD nowadays) at CoD, and diminishes their confidence. Eventually, they turn back to CoD, where they constantly play it, yet can't stop talking about how much they hate it.
Sadly, I agree. I haven't been onto the CoD series since the second game, where I really didn't realize any of the hype until World at War relased. Closest game I can compare to CoD mechanics would be Homefront, where it had fun little quick rounds but when I was off of BC2 for months (Probably 4) it felt completely different, biggest would be trying to knife people where Homefront had quick stabs BC2 had the slow delayed strikes (That also seemed to lock on and miss for whatever reason.)

Going between game styles like that is weird when you switch after so long, but I have to say BC2 does have moments where you can go Rambo and not be punished for it, specifically on hardcore mode. I find recon pretty easy, primary does single shot kills while the pistol is a 3-5 shot back-up weapon.
In turn, I would have thought hardcore mode & BC2 was done to try and lure CoD players.

i do hate COD..i wont drag my hate here but this isnt really copying off of COD. Valve has a similar system with Steam where you can have your friends lists and the like also with built in chatting and voice and such...so i think its pretty cool. We will have to see what its like in the Beta...thank god i wasted the 60 dollars on MOH....that beta key is def worth it....

We should start an OCN clan on BF3, that would be epic
