It's far more complicated than that. The protocol between keyboard and machine can take on many forms. Some ones used in older keyboards are so alien that you'd effectively need to make your own controller logic to replace what is used in the keyboard in order to interface it with a PC.

@Ripster: Yeah, it doesn't look like a regular PC keyboard to me. IIRC, those Amstrad machines were largely non standard.

It's like saying a Operating System is a Operating System. The Z80 would also have a hard time running Win7. That mod is DEFINITELY not recommended.

OP, if you don't have any 20cent Euros at least pull a key.

I see, I saw something like that in another threat. I'll try now but it's old and keys are hard to press if the angle is not correct, otherwise it takes like 4 or 5 I think, I don't know when keys activate

I'd be careful with that, Amstrad are well known for cheaping out on parts, that keyboard may well be non-standard.
