personally, what it does gaming wise doesn't matter much to me. it's almost a guarantee at this point any processor released will run just about every game out there just fine. what i'm more concerned about is the ppd.

I guess I dont get it... How is it at 1.4V and 19c the room must be ice cold...

I see 3.2Ghz on Core 1 is it safe to say this is the stock freq?

Seems the chip can really dial in the multi those cores are all over the board GHZ wise...

It's going to come down to what area consumers want to focus on and if the market is too saturated with SB for enough people to want to upgrade.
I agree about upgrading. I don't know why anyone running a sandy bridge, or even Core i, would consider switching. Other then to try out something new you wouldn't be doing any noticeably better in games.

For people like me, however, it's a single part upgrade, makes it much more appealing.

Edit: Current stock amd x6's run at 1.3+, why would having 8 cores at 1.4ish seem outlandish? And just because it takes that much to run that many cores doesn't mean they were doing anything to generate heat.

Yeah, 19C is around 65F, exactly room temperature. I really doubt that a modern processor is running at ambient on air cooling...

But it's 3.205 and AMD always uses exact frequencies like 3.300, 3.700 etc. And FSB variance is only 0.1 range. I'd say the multiplier was just going up, but not all the way.

Definitely a Crosshair.

I guess if it outperforms SB 15-20% in games then I would switch just because I like to have the newest and the best of stuff. Plus those 990FX mobos look sweet as crap!

Is it strange at all that the Vcore isnt dropping with the clocks? Or can it only drop as low as the highest clocked core needs it?

Maybe their montoring program isn't fully implemented yet, looking at it closer it seems more and more things don't add up. 19C doesn't seem possible at all and why is core1 at 3GHz but core 7 at .9Ghz but with a MUCH heavier load?
