Which monitor to choose?!

Thread Starter
Hello guys!

I need some advices on a monitor, as I totally have no clue what to do

So, first of all, what do I do?
I'm a student IT and I'm looking for a new monitor, as this Acer thingy isn't sufficient anymore.
In what I study, we need to make websites (alot), video editing, ...
So, a good choice would be a Dell U2311.
But, on the other hand, I'm a gamer, and I game alot. As IPS panels aren't that good for gaming. I don't really know any monitor that is good for gaming.
But, what should I choose? A monitor for school, for gaming or is their a "golden road" in between?
My budget is about +-200€ (yes, European here!)

Thanks in advance!

The U2311 is actually an e-IPS panel, its great for gaming. Its is the "golden road" you are looking for.

You are very wrong. A lot of IPS panels can be great for gaming. The common thing people think is that IPS has too much lag for a fast paced game. I have a 2ms tn TV, and my 8ms Dell U2410 IPS panel, and I notice no difference at all. People will also think that ghosting is a big problem, but it's really not at all. I notice tons of ghosting on my tn TV when the screen is panning, but on my U2410, I notice nothing.

I would definentaly recommend you get an Ips. The u2311h is good because it's a solid monitor that looks great, and it's pretty cheap. You could also pick up a U2410, but they're almost double the price. I think it's money well spent though .

Also, I've noticed that with my IPS, the image quality of things has improved greatly compared to TN. I was gaming on my 55" tn tv for a couple of weeks, then I went back to my U2410, and was like "woah". It seems like the picture is so much clearer, without any more pixels.
