second pcie slot PCI-E 2.0 or not?

Thread Starter
I am running Crossfire 5770s in MSI 870-g45 mobo. My question is:

Is the second card running at PCI-E 1.0? because GPU-Z reports that my second slot is PCI-E x16 @ x4 ?

while AMD CCC reports that my second slot is PCI-E 2.0 x16 @ x4

Linked Adapter
Graphics Card ManufacturerPowered by AMD
Graphics ChipsetATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
Device ID68B8
Vendor1002

Subsystem ID2288
Subsystem Vendor ID1787

Graphics Bus CapabilityPCI Express 2.0
Maximum Bus SettingPCI Express 2.0 x4

Now the question is: Is my second pcie slot really pcie 2.0 or not????

PCI-E Gen -Gen2 (1x16, 1x4)

Yeah they're both pcie 2.0 but at 4x it means the card is running at 8x pcie 1.0 and that will bottleneck you.

Yeah, no. You'll begin to notice a hit towards 2560x1600 but even then it won't be a huge notice.

So crossfire x16 x4 is not a bad idea? It is somehow confusing cause others say that x4 really hurts your crossfire setup.

Also interested in how much my Gigabyte UD2 MoBo is hurting my CrossFire performance? I have two 5850's running three 24" 1920x1080 and one is going x16, and the bottom card can only run x4.

I saw the testing results of x16/x16 vs x16/x8 and that shows that there's really not that big of a difference, but I'm not sure if downclocking the x8 to x4 is a huge decrease or not?
