[Corsair] Corsair Force Series 3 SSD Issue Resolution: Drive Return Procedure - Page 4

Hey, I love Corsair because they always step up to the plate to deliver a product that works. I have never had any issues with any of my Corsair products, and because of this I will continue to buy their products.

I appreciate you coming to the thread, CorsairGeorge, and facing us wily end users. :3

Does this apply to all SF controlled SSD drives?

No.

So far it is only officially the Corsair implementation of the SF-2xxx controller.

really... I just installed this on my laptop a few days ago...

Edit:

Will there be an option for cross shipping or advance RMA? I would like it if I could minimize the downtime if possible..

I'm sure our CSG group will work with you.

And for those asking, it's only the Force 3 120GB drive that has the issue at this point.

CorsairGeorge, I would also like to thank you for facing us unruly users. They way you and your company are handling this gives me a lot of respect for Corsair, especially when the trend of blaming users for most issues has been picking up. (You're just holding it wrong [iPhone]/Distilled H2O+Ag [kills EK nickel plated blocks])

Although I will be trying to return my Force 3 to Newegg for a refund, the fact that it was on sale and had a rebate just days after I bought it is a big factor in that decision.

With how well this has been handled I believe I will pick up the Force GT when it becomes available instead and I will also be considering more Corsair parts in any future build.

Why is corsair getting any crap for this? This is a fantastic gesture and I expect this type of service from any company. Figuring out the problem, notifying users and offering a free replacement is exactly what I like.

Good job corsair. Hats off to you.

This is obnoxious...
Right, because the bad PR, RMA and shipping costs are very desireable from a company standpoint.

I talked with my friend who does testing in OCZ's SSD department and I have been told that this specific issue has only been seen with Corsair SSDs. OCZ's SSDs should not be affected at all. The gist of it basically is that this controller is very very picky with the NAND and Corsair made a poor decision regarding the source of their NAND. I would assume that this was to cut costs, and I really can't blame Corsair for this blunder, every company tries to cut costs..... We all know Corsair is not exactly known for their poor QCing.
