Asus Z68 owners

Thread Starter
I posed this question in turrican9's Asus club thread but I'm afraid it may not get answered in that thread as there is only one other Z68 board owner living there So here it is again. If anybody has experiences in this issue your input is much appreciated....pasted below.

ok Z68 owners I have questions. I am now running the IGPU as primary and the 4830 as secondary. I went into the AI Suite to see about overclocking the IGPU. The stock setting is 1100MHz in GPU Boost and the upper slider allows 50MHz increases. The bottom slider is for voltage adjustment.

My question concerns
1) how much should I increase the speed?
2) What benefit will I see?
3) Does it affect the CPU overclock in any way?
4) when and how much voltage should be added?
5) it asks if I want to reboot to apply the settings. Will they be permanently applied as it would in BIOS>>>f10...yes

I have since upped the MHz by 100...rebooted and am seeing no ill effects.

I want to set mine up but right now I have my GPU providing the out signal. I plan on tinkering this weekend.

Great...if you find out any useful info regarding the IGPU overclocking please post here with your findings.

I don't know how much I will oOC the GPU, but to be honest I only have a thin grasp of what is going on there so I need to do some research first.

But from my limited understanding I can have my 580 be totally idle when surfing the web and doing just about anything and then it will kick in when 3d is needed, correct? If so then I dont see why I would need to OC the iGPU just for desktop stuff, but like I said I have a limited grasp of what is going on and which set up to choose.

I have next to no experience on it either...But yes If you install the Virtu control panel and turn it ON then the IGPU does the work until the discrete card is needed. At least that is my understanding of how it works.

Bumping ..so more Z68 owners can have input. Doesn't seem to be much info out concerning IGPU overclocking....and yes we all know that discrete cards are best, but still want to hear from users experiences with the IGPU.

Oh,another question...How do you know when/if the CPU has activated the discrete card? I am using one monitor and am hooked up to the mobo graphics port
