Haha, yeah my workspace is epic. I have the keys to a private schools manual arts block worth ~$1,000,000.

I thought I had a good place to work in (quite large garage and a good variety of tools) but I quess I was wrong. Someone should turn you in for abusing that workspace for your own selfish needs /JK tongue.gif

I'm just really lucky xD

I'm actually more comfortable modding in my room and under my house, but for larger scale projects and cutting windows etc, the school block is useful.

I'm going to pick up a 2,5mm drill if I can find one so I would be able to make some motherboard trays. I was thinking if I painted the trays black, would give the system a bit better look, no?
Would look really good, as long as the other colours work well with it.

Damn, my phone has gone totally ape****, meaning I can't take photos with it

The motherboard I'm going to use is going to be black, but the tray will be exactly the same size as the MB so it wouldn't be visible if a MB was installed. I think I will get back to this as soon as I get the trays and the drawer done. On the other hand this product isn't supposed to look cool, it's supposed to be convenient, quiet and have a good cooling system for the GPUs.

I like the Idea, Do you plan putting a Finnish on the wood. I am a carpenter by trade and don't mind giving out pointers.

If you don't mind holes on the side you could simply close the drawers and use a hole saw to go through the side and the drawers at the same time. this would require you to put the slides in afterward of coarse.

It is similar to a 4U rack-mount system... lol

I have 8 or so 10' 2x2 sticks of Mahogany left over from a job I did a while back. Im thinking of making something like this.

That would be great method but I can't see how I could easily get the drawers set in the right place. I can calculate the dimensions and then just drill one little hole and then use the hole saw for both the frame and drawer. Good idea though

Oh and thanks for the attention guys

If you can pull this off it deserves the attention.

Oh now I just feel nervous about this whole project.... Nah, as I said before my dad's helping me and he's really good with this kind of things. I'm pretty sure together we'll be able to pull this off easily The only problem is that it's hard to find free time for both of us.

Motherboard trays are now finished. I think I won't be painting them as it would be useless, I won't be seeing them anyway.

I killed an old case for a good cause. Took out the motherboard tray so didn't have to measure the places for the holes. Worked out really well

I know, it's very scratchy but to my defense I will tell you that I got the aluminum plates for free. They were spareparts and the company didn't need them so I took them. One square meter of that stuff would have cost 80€ which would have been WAY too much

The motherboard itself sits great

My temporary rig. I have a i5 2500K setup coming next week so I'm too lazy to put the rig into a case.
