No. You have a sound card. The G930s are USB cans, they bypass your computer's audio and process them with their built in sound processor. It's alright compared to onboard, but with any decent card you should be looking at something like the AD700s or HD555 for your budget.

Yes, go for the AD700 or HD555 phones. Your card isn't the best, but it doesn't have to be. The G930's cost is a result of its "7.1 surround" and wireless capabilities, not its quality. As for 'surround", the AD700 in particular has an incredible soundstage and will give you all the positional audio cues you might need.

Any real headphone will sound better than the G930 or any USB headset out there. Plus, if you ever upgrade your sound card, a USB headset wouldn't gain anything from it.

The G930 is excellent, but I go for the G35 (wired version) instead. If you have a wireless router or home telephone in your house, the G930 will disconnect every 1-2 minutes for 10 seconds, and it is extremely annoying while gaming.

Yep. I had this issue and I thought I had a bad product. Got it switched out and had the exact same issue. Luckily, Logitech customer support is extremely good.

2 of my friends have had the exact same issue as me.

Then G930's are very nice I use mine for games, but for movies and music I use the optical cable connected to my sound card for real surround sound with my home theater system.
The G930's do a great job at creating virtual 7.1 but if your more into music and movies then games then go with non usb headphones.

I have owned the G930 since launch, and the G35. The G930 is much better imo. They took some tweaking and time to break in, but if your not an audiophile, they sound great. If you chat with your buddies ingame a lot or skype, the mic is awesome.

I have NEVER had any issue with getting disconected with my wireless router (dlink 4500), all the wireless phones, and other wireless stuff inthe house. Get them, you wont be dissapointed.
