You may be already doing but: make sure your not using edge detect AA, as it kills virtually all game's fps for 0 image quality boost, just use x8 normal, or enhance current setting. and leave off morphalit-whatever its called filtering as it looks like ..well, it looks bloody bad lol.

Is Bulldozer expected to perform well for gaming?

EDIT: Where do I find @AMD Tesselation optimized?

EDIT EDIT: Found it, thanks.

I'll save you the trouble of reading 200 threads of nonsense. Nobody knows yet. Everything that has been said thus far, that didn't come from AMD directly, is speculation and nothing more, but it is expected to be, they're hardly going to release a next-gen line of chips thats worse then current. No exact figures yet though.

Great, thanks for the help.

So after the patching, hotfixing etc, 18-25fps with Ubersampling enabled sounds about right?

Have you tried disabling AA via the games options and overriding the application in the catalyst control center with AA enabled, so its completely up to the GPU to manage it, seeing as you have abundent GPU power.

Also try different AA types, eg x4/x8/12/16/24 etc. All games have a soft spot for a certain amount of AA, i ninja edited my post, two posts back about tesselation as well.

Doesn't sound right to me tbh, altho i don't have this game yet, im 90% sure its a compatiblilty issue rather then hardware, so don't be so sure your systems letting you down, quite just yet.

Edit: until recently iv'e been rocking a phenom 9750 2.4GHz, and x2 4870, maxing out current games, so im used to tweaking the hell out of everything lol

Ok so I restarted my computer for *****s since I hadn't yet and the hotfix didn't require it. Now WITH ubersampling enabled I'm running between 35-45fps. Not great still, but better than it had been.

Thubans aren't good with video games. There "alright" with video rendering. Dissapoint for a six core.

Reboot is usually the first thing you should do when you get performance issues, especially when it comes to a newly set up crossfire config.

Yeah so it looks like I should just cross my fingers and hope the new line of processors is better. That or switch to Intel? (Whince in anticipation for the onslaught of hate) Or would the cost of a new CPU/MOBO not be worth the performance boost. I know that's a highly subjective question, but looking at it from strictly a performance standpoint, is there a significant difference?

Well with the video cards you have.............ya I would. If BD fails, Ivy Bridge will await me. Then I might go full out, WC loop, SSD and everything. My current rig will make a good dust collector .

I'm getting frequent inconsistent FPS on Witcher 2 without uber sampling. I'm running 3 x 6970's and the game would randomly drop down to 20-25 fps to "slide-show" style, then back to a nice solid 60fps. I really hope AMD fixes this up....or maybe my tri-fire set-up just fails.
