Now I really see why PC gaming is so much better than consoles - Page 4

I don't like playing on the consoles for any reason. I prefer LANs over split screen, KB + M over controller (and any games that are better with a controller work natively with a 360 controller on PC anyways), etc.

Sometimes I think about whether the experience is worth the cost and the troubleshooting, then I turn on TF2, select a server based on what maps, settings, player count, mods, and ping I want, and then it loads and I see it in all its 60FPS, AA'd, AF'd, HD resolution glory, and I start moving around with my responsive and precise aiming device, and I realize that yes, it is indeed worth it.

No. PC gaming is better cause it ain't locked down. You can do whatever you wants. Also, dedicated servers, mods, and of course our lovely keyboard and mouse.

It's like how I cringe when all my console gaming friends are like, "Wow, Crysis 2 looks amazing on the xbox!" And when I try to explain to them that PC graphics will always be superior to console graphics, they actually refuse to believe me and tell me consoles always look better. At which point I facepalm and walk away.

I've been a console gamer for about 13 yrs. I recently got a laptop that had a decent ability to play some games and basically realized that I had wasted the last 13 years of my life with mediocrity and whining 12 year-olds. Oh, and then I bought my sig over the weekend. Now just to get rid of this ps3...

We are the master race I used to console like there is no tomorrow back when the 360 first came out and I was still gaming like mad on my PS2. I built my PC 2 years ago and haven't looked back, I might get another PS2 again because I broke mine.

There are still some good games on consoles, but they are lacking the eye candy

True, but so many of them are multi-platform that it seems like the only allure to having a console is the 1 or 2 exclusives a year really spiking your interest. That's pretty much how I'm rationalizing selling my ps3 to help fund my rig (as I did with my (5th) xbox 360, switching to ps3).

It depends. There are some older games and consoles I can't live without - my Sega Saturn and PS1 get tons of play time. There are games on those consoles that still hold up today, and can't be found anywhere else.

However, i've always loved PC gaming because the games go down in price so much faster!

Anyway, I have an Xbox 360, so I thought I'd set it up since I was dieing to play a game. . So I hook it up and I play Test Drive Unlimited 1, and Halo Reach.

The first thing that immediately jumped out at me was the lack of AA. Oh wait, theres no AA at all! I then noticed the horrible quality of the textures. Bad textures + no AA = a very bad looking game for me. It's like theres no realism in it! It doesn't "pull you in the the game" so to speak. It's just like a simple game of "shoot the other team" or something. Thats it. In Test Drive (which is a freestyle racing game), it was the same thing. No AA, and bad textures. Another bad thing in both games was the way shadows didn't match the time of day it was. There might be the shadow af a building coming toward you, but it was 12:00pm!

So yeah, now I know why PC gaming is so much better than consoles. I feel sad for those console fanboys that don't know what it's like
The Wii U might change that, considering it's got an HD4000 series gpu with 1GB DDR5 VRAM. In theory, it should be able to keep pace with DX10 titles on PC.
