Coming from a guy whose CPU is barely worth $100. If you had the opportunity you wouldn't get a $1000 CPU for $200? Yeah, okay.

for the guy who said he got it at the westbury store, i can say you're BSing as I know 0 990X were sold today at that store.

As my friend the CSR Manager in the store says there were he turned down the person who came to ask for the 199.99 price

also after tax its $217.19.

Read up on the site disclaimer, on the print ad disclaimers
they don't need to honor any price, and even here in NY you won't have a case.
When you have a case is if you VISUALLY see a price error on the sale tag.

There's a reason why microcenter's barcode stickers always show MSRP and never a sale price.

While a $200 price tag would be nice ... it would show a loss for the store. And Any manager who validates such a price match/ ad match .....would ... be fired.

I tried the Microcenter in Denver, no dice. My heart was racing because the manager said he would look into it and check the site.

Though after calling corporate offices (*insert curse word here*), he said that the CPU wasn't going for $199.99.

At least I can sleep tonight.

Ahahaha I just tried the Denver one as well. I went to customer service, showed the lady the printout and she went in the back for like 5 minutes. She came out and said that the $199.99 is referring to the savings from newegg....which it clearly did not say on the front page. Maybe if it weren't for the guy she showed it to....the guy looked at the page and said oh the i7 990x? Isn't that the $1k cpu?

Anyways....I went to the BYOPC section and pulled it up on a computer, showed the sales rep. He laughed and knew it was the $1k one and so no go there.

Oh well. At least I tried

But seriously, don't bother going. Even if you get really lucky with someone that's clueless about the price, they still have to go through a manager who will shoot you down. Most people there know that it's a pricey CPU.

Lol.

When did you go? I was just there about an hour ago.

I love the blank looks they gave me after they said it was only for $1k. "So do you still want it or.. ?"

Must have just missed you.

But I have to agree, they do have good deals and I appreciate that.

I noticed that Best Buy also has a 990x. Going to go check tomorrow if I can price match. He he.
