Yeah I was wondering if I should put it there or not, but I thought it was exciting. And anyone who wants to buy them now can.

The only news is that some sucker paid 1200 bucks for a pair of these. Awful.

That wasn't the point of the thread. It's just that these cards are going to be hard to get at that price at some point. I don't think MSI is really going to mass produce them since the GTX580 is kinda old.

So you're saying you think they'll increase in value at some point? Not likely, IMO. Possibly short-term, but like any other card made in the past few years, they'll be worth very little, very quickly.

Not increase in value, but just like the GTX590 that is always out of stock (even though people shouldn't get it), people who want to get them have to resort to eBay where sellers generously inflate prices. I think MSI knows that they're only targeting a small niche of customers and that people won't pay $75 extra for a fan that spins in reverse for 30 seconds; the 3GB VRAM is what's interesting for high res gamers = not a lot of people. So MSI knowing that is not going to manufacture thousands of them.

I still don't see how demand for this could be so high as to drive people to pay significantly more on eBay. There are plenty of GTX 580s available -- buying them with the intent of reselling for profit seems hilarious to me, when in a matter of months the 580 will be nothing more than a memory to people buying high-end stuff.

I agree that this isn't news but to call people who buy high end video cards suckers? Some people could say you're a sucker for buying a DSLR to take useless pictures to post on your FB so people can reply "how pretty the ocean is."

The TC has his hobby and you have yours.
