Isn't that how it is with ALL computer hardware? If he bought 2, good for him.

In a few months your 1090T will be nothing more than a memory to Bulldozer.

Or what if I said, only suckers buy the 6970 when they could've bought the 6950 and unlocked it?

Looks at your sig rig.

Bottom line is technology is always months away from being obsolete. However with the upcoming architecture, I doubt that we'll see a direct competitor to the GTX580 for a while until the new fab is free of problems. I think we'll start by mostly seeing low end/mid end GPUs based on the new fab and then once it's ready to handle high end, then Fermi will have a real competitor.
And for the first time in my life I can afford a powerful SLI gaming rig so it's a treat I'm making to myself. The only camera I have is my smartphone

Your point? I didn't go out and buy it assuming it was a unique part that would somehow be worth more than I paid for it. Overpaying for a non-reference version of a part that is otherwise plentiful is foolish, IMO.

Er... what? Part of my job revolves around photography, although I'm glad you're mature enough to make a point without making baseless assumptions. Great job!

That would be me. They'll be here Friday, and I am well aware of my choice.

And part of my job revolves around playing games and having plenty of performance, this wasn't completely a indulgences, I felt that it was an investment that I could justify given the specific features both this card and the 580 line gave me. Overall it's only about 25% more than a pair of normal 580's.

I can live with that.

Thread Starter
I see where this thread is heading so it shouldn't be up in the news section, sorry mods. I see so many threads about people with $5k budgets and I get called a sucker. The point of my thread was to let people know it was in stock, if you're not interested then that's not my problem. Ever since I saw the first lightning, I told myself that it would be perfect with 3GB of VRAM and MSI delivered, I've been waiting for this one for a while and I know some people were eagerly waiting as well. Mods decide what you want to do with this thread, I'm out.

Part of being on such a large forum like this is having the ability to make an educated decision on hardware based on multiple opinions and user reviews/physical usage results. Unless you plan to LN2 or bench on something other than air/water, I can't help but feel like you've wasted your money. Do with it what you want, this is only my opinion.
