Ever since I saw the first lightning, I told myself that it would be perfect with 3GB of VRAM and MSI delivered, I've been waiting for this one for a while and I know some people were eagerly waiting as well. Mods decide what you want to do with this thread, I'm out.
Thread has already been moved to Nvidia section.

And.... ignore the haters.

That's a fine argument, but I did my research and it's not like I'm new to choosing parts. My goal is to max out Metro 2033 at 2560*1600 with AA and all, I need a spare PCI-Express slot for a RevoDrive so I can't afford 3 slots graphics cards and I need my graphic card to run cool while trying to go over 1GHz, to me that's a Lightning Xtreme Edition. Even if I went a bit overkill, I'm planning to keep my parts for a while so it has to be a bit future proof. I wouldn't drop $500 on a reference GTX580 today, to me that would be money wasted.

Its so unfair... One of these are about $75 cheaper in the US, than the cheapest 1,5Gb card I can find here in Norway

You've clearly never experienced the awesomeness of the Twin Frozr cooler. How MSI does non-reference designs with beefed up PWM and the Twin Frozr without going nuts with the markup is great. I wouldn't call the pricing on non-reference 580s overpayment, I think you get good value for the extra money.

The Lightning for $20-25 above the price of a reference 580 is a steal.

It's all subjective anyway though.

You guys with the SLI 3GB 580s, enjoy. That's pretty cool.

I believe what you are seeking is water cooling. You can reduce your used slot quota and get lower temps than any non-reference air cooler can possibly provide.

I have owned a pair of MSI TF 5850s. They are good coolers, but weren't necessarily worth the added cost over reference models, which turned out to be higher clockers anyway.

Wait, 20-25? Zotac 580s are $429 AR, that's an $80 discrepancy per card.

Yeah and I don't want to spend $300 on water blocks.

Mates, please stop arguing, this is nonsense. If the OP want, and can afford 2 high end graphics cards, and also wan't to share with the community some info and his own joy, why to hate him!? ... I just don't get it!

IMO, If you don't have nothing good to say, better don't say nothing at all.

The unfortunate truth, but, there's nothing wrong with communication, it's how we learn/advance.
